Our own apps are on the way. Today BoltVeil runs in the free, official WireGuard and OpenVPN apps, and setup takes a few minutes.
WireGuard runs on one device at a time. Set it up on the device you use most, and connect your other devices with OpenVPN on the same account.
WireGuard for Windows
Download and install WireGuard for Windows from the official site.
Sign in to BoltVeil, open Setup, pick a country and download the WireGuard file.
In WireGuard, click Import tunnel(s) from file, choose the file and click Activate.
WireGuard from the Mac App Store
Install WireGuard from the Mac App Store.
Sign in to BoltVeil, open Setup, pick a country and download the WireGuard file.
In WireGuard, choose Import tunnel(s) from file, then click Activate.
wireguard-tools
Install wireguard-tools with your package manager.
Download the WireGuard file from Setup and save it as /etc/wireguard/boltveil.conf.
Run sudo wg-quick up boltveil to connect, and sudo wg-quick down boltveil to stop.
WireGuard from the App Store
Install WireGuard from the App Store.
Open Setup in BoltVeil on another screen and pick a country to show its QR code.
In WireGuard, tap +, then Create from QR code. Scan it and switch the tunnel on.
WireGuard from Google Play
Install WireGuard from Google Play.
Open Setup in BoltVeil on another screen to show the QR code, or download the file on your phone.
In WireGuard, tap +, then Scan from QR code or Import from file or archive, and switch it on.
Routers with WireGuard or OpenVPN
Check that your router has a WireGuard or OpenVPN client. OpenWrt, GL.iNet, ASUS and many others do.
Download a WireGuard or OpenVPN file from Setup.
Upload it in your router's VPN client settings. Every device on that network is then covered.
Your other devices connect with OpenVPN. Install OpenVPN Connect, then download an OpenVPN file from Setup: UDP for speed, or TCP for firewall mode on strict networks.
